Cattle

Domestic cattle are raised in most countries around the world, having a huge economic importance for people. Cattle are large animals with a robust constitution, some specimens reaching 1700kg.

Cattle were domesticated approximately 2,000 years after sheep and goats, in Southwest Asia. The auroch is the ancestor of most domestic cattle and is now extinct. Cattle feed can include both pasture vegetation and by-products of crop production, representing an advantage for farmers.

Cattle diets vary depending on the desired product: milk or meat.
